Name: Ben Juergens
Age: 22 years old
Occupation: Busboy at Rouge
Ben always likes to view his upbringing as a blessing. If he didn’t struggle growing up, he wouldn’t be the same man he is today. He knows that he’s strong and that he can make it through almost any situation thrown his way. Growing up without a father was hard, but he survived. His mother’s suicide almost killed him, but he survived. Everything he was put through, he always survived. Ben even helped his sister survive. If only he could have done the same for his mother. He always knew Candice tried to take care of him, but it always ended up being the other way around. Though, he didn’t mind. Taking care of others seemed to be Ben’s forte.
School wasn’t particularly easy for Ben either. His marks were always terrible, no matter how hard he tried, and it was only after graduation that anyone brought up the possibility of him being Dyslexic. Ben didn’t want to be tested. If he was, he was. If he wasn’t, he wasn’t. It didn’t matter to him either way. To be perfectly honest, Ben never thought he’d end up working at a bar, but it turned out to be a blessing for him. He was close to his sister, and he met the one girl he knew was perfect for him. Charlotte Featherstone was flawless. She was witty, beautiful and way out of his league. Ben could never stop thinking about her. Thankfully, an opportunity came for him to finally talk to the love of his life.
Though violence was never really his style, he took a great deal of pleasure out of punching out the guy who was hitting on her. Ever since, the two were great friends. Which, Ben absolutely dreaded. They were friends. Something in him made him think that was all they ever were going to be. So, he tried to move on. However, he failed. Just when things were looking down for Ben, Candice’s life seemed to be looking up…in all the wrong ways. Ben hated her new boyfriend. He didn’t know why, but he got a strong sense of darkness from William Elliston and he didn’t want him around his sister. However, there was nothing Ben could do to convince Candice of leaving him. Even when she started using again, he just couldn’t get her to stop. He didn’t want to give up, but eventually that became his only option. And Ben couldn’t hate himself more.
Ben was always the nice guy who never got the girl. He was funny and always optimistic, and very protective of those around him. He never wants any woman to end up like his mother, and would do anything to prevent that from happening. Though it’s something he’s trying to change, Ben always puts others ahead of himself. He’s quiet and usually keeps to himself. Hardly anyone can ever get him to open up. Unless of course, you give him alcohol. The lightest of all light weights, Ben always spills his secrets while intoxicated. It was one of the many reasons he hardly drank.
Candice Juergens (Sister):
If Ben could devote his life to taking care of Candice, he would. However, he could only take her pushing him away so much. It hurt to have his sister depend more on a stranger than on her own blood, but Ben knew that there wasn’t much he could do about it. Still, even though he gave up on trying, he still likes to make sure she’s okay and keeping herself on track. They do, after all, still live together.
Alexie Romanoff (Best Friend):
Ben and Alexie grew up together. Ever since they were little kids on the playground, Alex was standing up for Ben and Ben was always thankful. Alex was the brother Ben never had. As they got older he tried to help him with his schoolwork, and even got his father to help sometimes. There’s nothing Alex doesn’t know about Ben and vice versa. It was them against the world, and nothing would change that.
Charlotte Featherstone (Close Friend):
Charlotte was Ben’s angel. It was cliché, he knew that, but it was the truth. He couldn’t help but love her. She may have projected an image of innocence, but her tough attitude contrasts that immensely. He’s just glad he was able to help her out at least once, but Ben would be the first one to tell you if he didn’t punch the drunk that was hitting on her, Charlotte would have in a second. If Ben weren’t so worried about losing her completely, he’d tell her how he felt in an instant. However, he’d rather have her as a friend than not at all.
The role of Ben Juergens is open.
