Name: Janelle Schafer
Age: 29 years old
Occupation: Art Thief
Janelle was the black sheep of the family. Her brother Elijah was the perfect son; he had the act down pat. He got straight A’s, was captain of the Football team, and even got a scholarship to Columbia. However, Janelle knew his secret. Their parents would be ashamed if they knew their golden son got everything by cheating. They raised him better than to abuse his magic. But Janelle knew that Elijah was a fraud. It made her bitter. It made her want to use her power even more. So, she caused trouble all throughout school, taking a different path than her brother.
When she was eighteen years old, she ran away from her perfectly flawed household and made it on her own. She used her magic to manipulate those around her, shoplifting and stealing cars at first, but soon enough, the time came for her to step up her game. She was bored with easy and wanted a challenge. She returned to New York for the first time in seven years to steal a work of art from the Guggenheim. Of course she succeeded. It wasn’t easy, and she pushed her magic to the limits, but she had so much fun. She decided to stay in New York, avoiding her family and her brother’s stuck-up Californian wife. Though when they and a new family of witches tracked her down she didn’t have much of a choice but to go with them.
Despite having to be in close proximity with her brother, Janelle didn’t mind being in Las Vegas. She could have fun rigging the casinos out of the house’s favour. Still, she wasn’t pleased wasting so much of her magic on creating the angels for the upcoming “battle” the James’ are so worried about. As far as Janelle was concerned, the world had already gone to hell. If it became official, then what was the big deal? She is indifferent to most things until it actually effects her. The devil rising is no different.
All things considered, Janelle is not someone people like to have around for an extended period of time. She’s cynical and bold, and doesn’t fear giving her opinion. She offends people often, and doesn’t care about making friends. She’s selfish and impatient, and the only person who really matters to her is herself. With that said, she does have a softspot for her nephew. But, that was probably because he was the complete asshole to her brother.
Anderson Schafer (Nephew):
Anderson is really the only member of her family that Janelle doesn’t detest completely. He was a decent young man, and always took care (or tried to) of his sister. The only person he was anything less than charming with was his father. Always defying his orders and mocking him in any way possible. So, of course that was a plus in Janelle’s eyes.
Elijah Schafer (Brother):
Janelle holds a lot of resentment towards her brother. He got everything, leaving her with nothing. The age difference between them didn’t help matters. They were opposites. She can hardly hold a conversation with him without mimicking him, or mocking everything he holds dear. One of her greatest pleasures in life is tearing her brother down; mentally, emotionally, or even physically.
Georgia James (Friend):
Georgia was sweet. It was sickening, really, but Janelle needed a ball of sunshine in her life. While Janelle often rolls her eyes at the woman’s optimism, she enjoys her company. At least, when she’s not in a mood. Georgia is the person Janelle calls when she wants to get a drink without looking like a pathetic alcoholic. Then again, that wasn’t too often.
The role of Janelle Schafer is taken.
